Cycle Sardinia

Simon Rickard, one of the 5 intrepid cyclists who rode to and from Sardinia during the “Cycle to Sardinia” Charity trip, will return to Sardinia next week with his bike….but this time he’s not cycling there!

Simon was pivotal in raising over £28,000 pounds for the Poole Hospital Neo-Natal unit in Dorset. The cycle trip was a great success and just last week Simon told me that a work colleague of his had thanked him for all his efforts. Simon asked why he was thanking him again, and was told that his wife had just given birth to a baby at 27 weeks and the baby was taken to the Neo-Natal unit and nursed on one of the cots that has been purchased from the money that “Cycle to Sardinia” had raised. (All the cots have a plaque on the side of them).

Cycling is environmentally friendly, good for fitness and enables you to get a real taste and feel of the island, to meet the local people, stay in family run accommodation and to get off the beaten track and experience the real Sardinia by bike...
