Huw (from Huw's view!)and his family were lucky enough to be in Sardinia the last week of October at Villa L'Arco. The weather was fabulous, the beaches deserted yet the sea warm enough for swimming and windsurfing - just what we tell our our customers that October is such a great time to visit the island! During the week we visited Valle della Luna (Valley of the Moon) on the headland at Capo Testa and enjoyed a really interesting walk through the amazing rock formations there and the boys jumped off the rocks into the clear blue sea at the bottom - well worth the walk! We were were still there as the sun statred to set and we had forgotten how dramatic this could be! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFP_YQ1EGtASituated on the edge of the vibrant town of Santa Teresa on the northern most tip of the island and 3 km from the beautiful headland of Capo Testa, La Funtana Hotel provides an ideal base for enjoying the town and beaches in this beautiful area of Sardinia. Santa Teresa di Gallura and Capo Testa are situated on the northern most tip of the island enjoying wonderful views over the Straits of Bonifacio to the island of Corsica. There are some beautiful beaches with clear turquoise sea, ideal for swimming and snorkelling, and fascinating rock formations carved by the wind on the headland and in the Valley of the Moon. The town offers a good selection of shops and restaurants and from the port, boat trips to the islands and daily ferries to Corsica. The town beach of Rena Bianca is lovely. For more information and to book a holiday to Sardinia, call Just Sardinia 01202 484858 or visit www.justsardinia.co.uk
